Headquarters of university situates in Munich city center but university operates also in other locations. The largest one is the campus of Garching with over 12,000 students at five faculties. 

Technical University of Munich (TUM) is one of the biggest technical universities in Germany and one of the first in the country to be nominated as University of Excellence. TUM offers more than 150 degree programs in the natural sciences, engineering, medicine, life sciences, business and economics, teaching and educational research. 9,500 professors and research assistants teach over 35,000 students.
